John Kucharczyk is a co-founder of NexGen and has been the Company’s Chief Executive Officer since 2004. Previously, he was Vice President of Imaging and Medical Devices at BresaGen, Inc and served as Chief Scientific Officer and Director at CytoGenesis Inc. He was also a co-founder and Director at Image-Guided Neurologics, which was acquired by Medtronic in 2005. From 1986-95, Dr. Kucharczyk was Director of Neuroradiology Research at the University of California, San Francisco. He was Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota from 1995-2000. He has 45 patents and patents pending, several of which are exclusively licensed to or owned by NexGen.
Thomas Seoh was appointed as President of NexGen in 2010. He was CEO of Faust Pharmaceuticals; Senior Vice President Corporate Development at Guilford Pharmaceuticals (NSDQ: GLFD) (acquired by MGI Pharma).
Richard Latchaw is a co-founder of NexGen. As the Company’s Medical Director, he is responsible for clinical evaluation of NexGen’s products. He is an internationally known expert in cerebrovascular, diagnostic, and therapeutic techniques and is a co-inventor of several patents which are licensed to NexGen. Dr. Latchaw co-founded Image-Guided Neurologics, which was acquired by Medtronic in 2005.
Matthew Solar joined NexGen as Vice President of Product Development in May 2008. He has 20 years experience in design, development and manufacturing of medical devices, including seven years with Medtronic/IGN from 1999-2006. He has participated in four successful startup companies and has a proven track record of leading product development from concept to successful commercialization. He earned an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Florida, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Valparaiso University, and holds 64 U.S. patents.
Craig Pagan, Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance, has over 20 years experience in quality assurance and regulatory affairs, specializing in medical devices, including seven years with Medtronic/IGN from 1999-2006. He has participated in three successful start-up companies. His areas of expertise include quality systems, regulatory submissions (FDA and ISO), product and process validation, project management, FDA and ISO audits and certification, as well as post market compliance. He has prepared and obtained FDA 510(k) clearances for devices from the Cardiovascular, Neurology, General and Plastic Surgery, and Ear, Nose and Throat panels of the FDA. Craig attended Florida International University majoring in Chemistry.
Dino De Cicco was appointed as the Company’s Director of Engineering in September 2008. Previously, Dino served as R&D Manager at Bacchus Vascular from 2000-2005 (acquired by Covidien), as Product Development Engineer at Appriva Medical from 1999-2000 (acquired by ev3, Inc.), and as Product Development Engineer at Medtronic AneuRx from 1996-1999. Dino holds a B.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Southern California, and he has fourteen patents related to medical devices.
Glenn Perry, Manufacturing Manager, has over 20 years experience in manufacturing and process development, including five years with Medtronic/IGN from 2002-2007. He has participated in two successful start up companies and has experience as an advanced prototype and model maker receiving technical training in manufacturing technology at Choffin Tech in Youngstown Ohio. He specializes in micro manufacturing of precision mechanical assemblies and electronics. In addition to a medical device design patent he has a number of process patents pending.
Christine Pappas has been NexGen’s Director of Operations since 2004. Between 1999-2001, Ms. Pappas served as Director of Research at CytoGenesis, Inc, a medical device company based in Minneapolis that was acquired by Australian biotech BresaGen.
