William Broaddus, M.D., Ph.D. is Hord Professor of Neurosurgery at the Medical College of Virginia. He is an internationally known authority on image-guided neurosurgery, and co-author of several patents licensed to NexGen. As Chair of NexGen’s Clinical Advisory Committee and Co-founder of the Company, Dr. Broaddus advises NexGen’s senior management and directors on clinical issues that impact the Company’s technology development strategy. George Gillies, Ph.D. is Research Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia. He also holds the title of Clinical Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Gillies is a co-founder of Stereotaxis, Inc., which had a successful IPO in 2004. As Chair of NexGen’s Technical Advisory Committee, Dr. Gillies provides independent advice to NexGen’s senior management and directors on scientific and technological issues that impact the Company’s business plan. Dr. Gillies is a co-founder of NexGen.
Michael Bronskill, PhD is Professor of Medical Biophysics, Medical Imaging, and Physics at the University of Toronto. He is an internationally known authority on magnetic resonance imaging and interventional, image-guided techniques, and holds several patents related to imaging technologies. Dr. Bronskill is a co-founder and director of Profound Medical Inc., a med-tech start-up that is developing MRI-guided transurethral ultrasound therapy for prostate cancer. Dr. Bronskill is a co-founder of NexGen.
John Laird, MD is the medical director of the UC Davis Vascular Center. Dr. Laird is an internationally renowned interventional cardiologist who has lectured and performed endovascular procedures around the world. His practice focuses on interventions for carotid artery disease, abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms. He has published extensively on aneurysmal disease, renal artery disease, and peripheral artery disease. Laird most recently was the director of Peripheral Vascular Interventions at the Cardiovascular Research Institute and Co-director of the Center for Vascular Care at the Washington Hospital Center, both in Washington, D.C.
Wayne Monsky, M.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of California at Davis. Dr. Monsky specializes in endovascular interventional radiology and oncology procedures. He is the Principal Investigator at UCD on the development of NexGen peripheral thrombectomy device. Dr. Monsky’s research interests include thermal ablation of tumors of the liver and other body organs.
Matt Howard, M.D. is Professor and Chair, Neurosurgery, University of Iowa and specializes in epilepsy surgery. His research interests include studies of hearing impairment, clinical research in epilepsy treatments, clinical models of Alzheimer’s disease, and the development of magnetic stereotaxis. He is the author of several patents disclosing medical devices for treatment of neurological diseases. He is a co-founder of Stereotaxis, Inc., St. Louis, MO.
Sean Grady, M.D. is the Charles Harrison Frazier Professor & Chairman of the Department Neurosurgery at the University of the Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He trained in Neurological Surgery at the University of Virginia and was a faculty member at the University of Washington from 1987 -1999. His research interests are focused on memory dysfunction resulting from traumatic brain injury and minimally invasive neurosurgery.
Zvi Ram, M.D. is Professor and Chairman of Neurosurgery at the Tel Aviv Medical Center. Prof. Ram specializes in brain tumor surgery and is an international authority on convection-enhanced delivery of therapeutic agents.
